Ghazal
har che baada baad kashti dar aab andakhtam
This ghazal captures the audacious leap of confessing love regardless of the consequences, embracing fate with resolute abandon. It vividly portrays the bitter aftermath of passion, where stubborn devotion turns every emotional wound into an enduring, poignant ache.

Come what may, into the waters I have launched my boat; gathering my courage today, I laid bare every longing of my heart.
Come what may, I have launched my boat into the water; gathering courage, today I have expressed my heart's desires to them.

Your turmoil has embittered life, spurred by stubborn art; alas, you have turned every wound into a shaker of salt!
Your turmoil and some of your stubbornness have embittered life. Alas, you have turned every single wound into a shaker of salt.

Veiling your tresses and your face—what strange coquetry is this? One you have left bewildered, the other cast into distress.
Veiling your hair and face, what kind of style is this? You have left one bewildered and the other distressed.
4
Every sigh of mine has breathed into me a brand-new soul; the heartache transformed my every vein into the vein of life.
My every sigh has breathed a new soul into me, and the pain of my heart has transformed my every vein into the vein of life.
5
My gaze grew so profound that You began to appear in sight; whichever speck of dust I beheld, I turned into Canaan's well.
My gaze became so profound that You became visible to me; whichever speck of dust I looked upon, I turned it into the well of Canaan.
6
Why would the stitches of the wound not snap? Behold what calamity befell: Into the seam that closed the wound, they wove the thread of my torn collar.
Why would the stitches of the wound not snap? Just look at the injustice that the thread of my own torn collar was used to sew up the wound.
7
Behold the wondrous marvels wrought by my frenzy's wild despair: it shrank the desert to a speck of dust, and made a speck a boundless wilderness.
Behold the wondrous wonders of the fervor of my frenzy; it reduced an entire desert to a speck of dust, and turned a mere speck into a vast wilderness.

If only someone could behold the exquisite grace of my healer’s cure: / From my heart, it erased all difference between the pain and the balm.
If only someone could see the exquisite artistry of my healer's treatment, which has erased the distinction between pain and cure from my heart.
9
Quietly, softly, deep within, O hidden longing of mine, you have made my heart the confidant of beauty concealed and divine.
O hidden desire, quietly and deep within, you have made my heart the keeper of the secrets of concealed beauty.
10
Those upon whose mastery wisdom itself took rightful pride, were turned to mere schoolroom novices by an unlettered guide.
Those on whose mastery and intellect wisdom itself took rightful pride were reduced to mere schoolroom novices by an unlettered one.
11
Look not upon my wine-soaked hem, I am a drinker pure within; even the daughter of the vine, my touch has rendered chaste and clean.
Do not look at my wine-stained hem, for my inner self is pure. I have made even wine (the daughter of the vine) chaste and pure.
12
What a cure occurred to me, seized by frenzy and despair: I bound my captive heart fast to her disheveled hair.
O Majzoob, what a cure for my frenzy occurred to me: I went and bound my heart to the beloved's disheveled tresses.
