Shauq Hai To Hai Us Ka Ghar Nazdeek
शौक़ है तो है उस का घर नज़दीक

शौक़ है तो है उस का घर नज़दीक
दूरी-ए-रह है राहबर नज़दीक
If there is a desire, that house is near,
But the path of separation, the guide is far.

आह करने में दम को साधे रह
कहते हैं दिल से है जिगर नज़दीक
To sustain the strength in a mere sigh,
They say the heart's passion is close and nigh.
To maintain the strength for a mere sigh, they say that the passion of the heart is very close.

दूर वालों को भी न पहुँचे हम
यही न तुम से हैं मगर नज़दीक
Even to those who are far, we do not reach
But you, though near, are far from me
The Shayar says that he does not even reach those who are far away, yet you (who are close) are even further from him.

डूबें दरिया-ओ-कोह-ओ-शहर-ओ-दश्त
तुझ से सब कुछ है चश्म-ए-तर नज़दीक
My dear, everything—the river, the mountains, the city, the desert—is near to your eye (vision).

हर्फ़ दूरी है गरचे इंशा लेक
दीजो ख़त जा के नामा-बर नज़दीक

ख़बर आती है सो भी दूर से याँ
आओ यक-बार बे-ख़बर नज़दीक
