Ghazal
ab haae koi taar-e-girebaan nahin raha
This ghazal poignantly portrays the peak of desolate madness and romantic despair, where even the traditional outlets of grief—such as tearing one's collar or wandering into the wilderness—have been exhausted. The poet reflects on an overwhelming sense of alienation and depletion, creating a deeply melancholic atmosphere of utter helplessness.

Alas, not a single thread remains of my tattered collar; in this wild frenzy, nothing is left to beguile my heart.
Alas, not even a single thread remains of my collar, and in this state of madness, there is nothing left to amuse or comfort my heart.
2
When has the wilderness not fled before my frenzy? When has the desert ever failed to keep far away from me?
When has the wilderness not fled from my madness, and when has the desert ever failed to keep far away from me?
3
No possibility remains of passion’s wild delirium; Come now, for in my heart no desire lingers on.
There is no longer any possibility of madness or ecstasy in longing; come now, for no desire remains in the heart anymore.
4
A single strike of my hand, and the collar was no more; a single sigh from my chest, and the prison was no more.
With just a single strike of my hand, my collar was torn to shreds, and when I drew a single deep sigh, the prison ceased to exist.
5
Behold the spring-like bounty of the garden of that cheek—turning its gaze toward the wild, the desert was desolate no more.
Behold the spring-like grace of the garden of the beloved's cheek; the moment they turned their face toward the wild, the wilderness was desolate no more.
6
Even if no thread of collar is left about my neck, O claw of madness, the thread of breath still remains for you to tear.
O claw of madness, even if no thread of the collar is left around my neck to tear, the thread of breath still remains.
7
The dead stirred back to life within their graves—alas, what agony! / Why so? Because You no longer intend to visit the graveyard of the forlorn.
What a disaster that the dead were left languishing in torment within their graves; why did you give up the intention of visiting the graveyard of the forlorn?
8
Bear me away now, O restlessness, toward the placeless realm; this world of possibilities is worthy of ecstasy no more.
O restlessness, take me away now toward the realm beyond space, for this physical world of possibilities is no longer worthy of ecstatic joy.
