Ghazal
Ye Hoorayaan-e-farangi Dil O Nazar Ka Hijab
ये हूरयान-ए-फ़रंगी दिल ओ नज़र का हिजाब
This ghazal describes a graceful fairy who conceals her beauty and gaze behind a veil. She shines like the moon and stars in the ocean of existence, yet she is too subtle to be contained by the noise of the world. The poem concludes with a commentary on how the Sufi has corrupted the city's scholar (faqih).
