Jab Kabhi Dariya Men Hote Saya-afgan Aap Hain

जब कभी दरिया में होते साया-अफ़गन आप हैं

Bahadur Shah Zafar· Ghazal· 16 shers· radif: आप हैं

This ghazal contrasts the radiant, transformative beauty of the beloved with the lover's deep and incurable sorrow. While the beloved's mere reflection brings light and wonder to the world, the lover laments a heart so pierced by grief that no healer can mend it.
