નીકળ્યા!

The verses

1. ના હિન્દુ નીકળ્યા, ન મુસલમાન નીકળ્યા, કબરો ઉઘાડી જોયું તો ઇન્સાન નીકળ્યા.

   Meaning: No Hindu emerged, no Muslim was found,When graves were opened, only humans were around.

2. તારો ખુદા કે નીવડ્યાં બિન્દુય મોતીઓ, મારાં કરમ કે અશ્રુઓ તોફાન નીકળ્યાં!

   Meaning: Your God, or perhaps fate, made every drop a pearl, My karma, or my tears, turned out to be a storm!

3. કરતા હતા પહાડનો દાવો પલાશ પણ, આવી જો પાનખર તો ખર્યાં પાન નીકળ્યાં.

   Meaning: Even the Palash claimed a mountain's grand array,But with autumn's arrival, just fallen leaves held sway.

4. હું મારા શ્વાસ જેમને સમજી રહ્યો હતો, ‘ઘાયલ’, એ શ્વાસ મોતનાં ફરમાન નીકળ્યાં.

   Meaning: Those whom I took to be my very breath,‘Ghayal’, those breaths became decrees of death.
