કૈં ક્યારનો આમ જ મુગ્ધ બની આ મીના બજારે ઊભો છું, લાગી છે કતારો નજરોની, નજરોની, કતારે ઊભો છું.
Meaning: For how long have I stood, thus enchanted,In this Meena Bazaar;Rows of gazes have formed, of gazes,I stand in their queue.
આ દરિયાદિલી દરિયાની, હવા આકંઠ પીવા કેરી ય મજા, ચાલ્યા જ કરું છું તેમ છતાં લાગે છે, કિનારે ઊભો છું.
Meaning: This ocean's boundless grace, and the joy of drinking its air to the full,I keep on walking, yet it feels as though I stand upon the shore.
સાચે જ જનાજા જેવી છે, એ દોસ્ત, દશા મારીય હવે. કાલેય મજારે ઊભો’તો, આજે ય મજારે ઊભો છું!
Meaning: Truly, my state, oh friend, is now like a funeral bier.Yesterday too I stood at a shrine, today too I stand here!
જોયા છે ઘણાને મેં ‘ઘાયલ’ આ ટોચેથી ફેંકાઈ જતાં, એકાદ ઘડી આ તો એમ જ આવીને મિનારે ઊભો છું.
