Ghazal
moosa ne jise jalwa-numa toor se dekha
This ghazal contemplates divine illumination and mystical perception, drawing upon the sacred allusion of Prophet Moses at Mount Sinai. The poet reflects with profound spiritual humility that beholding the Divine is impossible through human effort alone, and can only occur through God's own grace and light.

That splendor Moses saw revealed upon Mount Sinai's height, / Like a flash of lightning, yesterday, I too glimpsed from afar that light.
That divine splendor which Moses saw manifested on Mount Tur, I too caught a glimpse of it yesterday from afar, shining like a flash of lightning.

Had He not revealed it, how could we have ever seen? That Light we beheld only through that very Light.
If He had not shown it, how could we have ever seen it? We were able to perceive that divine Light only by means of that very Light itself.

Were it of a single shade, I would tell someone in praise; but a hundred haughty airs have I witnessed from that proud idol.
If it were of just one kind, I would describe and praise it to someone; but I have seen a hundred different kinds of airs and coquetry from that proud beloved.

How could a houri or fairy ever match her in beauty and grace? Fairies and houris themselves marvel at that envy of their race.
How can houris and fairies ever rival her in beauty? Even fairies and houris themselves look with wonder at that beloved who makes fairies jealous.

In love, my own heart has brought me endless grief; O Turab, what trials haven't I suffered from this sorrow-stricken heart!
In love, my heart has caused me immense sorrow; O Turab, what tribulations have I not witnessed and endured because of this afflicted heart!
