During a heavy monsoon, a lonely farmer on a riverbank watches as a golden boat arrives to take away his harvested golden rice. The boat carries away all his life's work and produce, leaving him behind, alone on the desolate shore. This poignant poem explores themes of life's transience, the artist's legacy, and the separation of creator from creation.

Clouds thunder in the sky, it's heavy rain. I sit alone on the bank, without any hope.

Piles and piles, loads and loads of paddy have been harvested. Who will take, who will take, my golden paddy?

I have no place on this side, I will board that boat. The golden boat arrived, took the paddy, but did not take me.

I remained lying on the bank of the empty river; the golden boat took away all that I had.
