Ghazal
Kab Talak Ji Ruke Khafa Hove / Aah Kariye Ki Tak Hawa Hove
This ghazal is a plea for the beloved's displeasure to end and joy to return to the heart. The poet repeatedly asks how long this anger will last and when the heart will find peace again. It is a yearning for the atmosphere of love and happiness to be restored.

1
Until when will you remain displeased, / Oh, sigh, that the air might pass by.
The Shayar asks until when you will remain displeased, and until when this gust of wind will pass.
2
Whether one stays put or becomes the wind,
See what happens as time moves on.
Whether one remains still or becomes the wind, see what happens as time progresses.
3
Like salt, interest, or a wound-bearing breast,
If there is some fun left in the heart's behest.
Like salt, interest, or a wound-bearing breast, if there is some fun left in the heart's behest.
4
Take care of the matters of the heart,
Whatever remains in your soul.
Take care of the matters of the heart, whatever remains in your soul.
5
In the silence, there is a lack of desire,
Say something, that I may have a plea.
In silence, there is a lack of desire; please say something so that I may have a plea or request.
6
Naseem is casting a spell with his breath; look what these years will bring.
Naseem is casting a spell with his breath; look what these years will bring.
7
If we die, then we die; oh, my heart's captive, may disaster strike you.
If we die, then we die; oh, my heart's captive, may disaster strike you.
8
I have fallen for love, O advisor,
Whoever's heart is captivated by it.
is that the poet says, 'I have fallen for love, O advisor; whoever's heart is captivated by it.'
9
From the prostration of Adam, perhaps, no devil's sway,
Maybe God shall be found within that veil's display.
The poet suggests that perhaps the devil will have no influence from Adam's prostration, and maybe God can be found within that veil.
10
We did not hear any stream tonight, O Mir,
(It seems) that you are dying.
We did not hear any stream tonight, O Ghalib, (it seems) that you are dying.
