Ghazal
is tarah ka ghazab hai ro dena
This ghazal captures the devastating power of grief, where an outburst of weeping has the catastrophic intensity to submerge the entire world. It conveys a profound sense of helplessness, sorrow, and quiet resignation in the face of unavoidable heartbreak.

1
Such a calamity it is to weep this way: / In a single instant, drowning the entire world.
Weeping in this manner is such a calamity that it drowns the entire world in a single instant.
2
Who would ever desire the ruin of the heart? / Yet what can one do, when it is destined to fall apart?
Who would ever desire the ruin of their heart? Yet what can one do when whatever is destined to happen must happen.
3
What do you gain from this, O cruel one, / To take a heart, only to lose it so?
O cruel one, what do you gain by taking someone's heart only to lose it away like this?
4
Heart and soul I have already surrendered unto thee; whatever else you now desire, take it—it is freely given.
I have already sacrificed my heart and life for you; whatever else you desire now, take it, it is given.
5
Could there be any loss greater than this—to surrender love with one's very own hands?
Could there be any loss greater than giving up or losing love by one's own hands?
