ऊधो मन न भए दसबीस

The verses

1. ऊधो मन न भए दसबीस । एक हुतो सो गयो स्याम सँग को अवराधे ईस ॥

   Meaning: O Uddhava, we do not possess ten or twenty hearts; the one we had departed with Krishna, so who now is left to worship your Lord?

2. इँद्री सिथिल भई केसो बिन ज्यों देही बिन सीस । आसा लगी रहत तनु श्वासा जीजो कोटि बरीस ॥

   Meaning: Senseless have grown our limbs without Keshav, like a body bereft of its head; yet hope still clings to the breath in this frame, yearning to live on for millions of years.

3. तुम तौ सखा स्याम सुंदर के सकल योग के ईस । सूरदास वा रस की महिमा जो पूँछै जगदीश ॥

   Meaning: You are the close companion of the beautiful Shyam, and the lord of all yoga; Surdas marvels at the glory of that divine love, which even the Lord of the Universe seeks to know.
