अगर गुलशन तरफ़ वो नौ-ख़त-ए-रंगीं-अदा निकले

अगर गुलशन तरफ़ वो नौ-ख़त-ए-रंगीं-अदा निकले गुल ओ रैहाँ सूँ रंग-ओ-बू शिताबी पेशवा निकले
Should toward the garden that graceful, fair youth make his way, scent and color from rose and basil would rush forth to welcome him without delay.
If that graceful youth with delicate beauty steps toward the garden, color and fragrance would swiftly rush out from the rose and basil to welcome him.

खिले हर ग़ुंचा-ए-दिल ज्यूँ गुल-ए-शादाब शादी सूँ अगर टुक घर सूँ बाहर वो बहार-दिल-कुशा निकले
Every bud of the heart would blossom with joy like a fresh, radiant rose, if only for a moment that heart-delighting spring would step forth from home.
If that heart-delighting spring (the beloved) steps out of the house even for a moment, every bud of the heart would bloom with joy like a fresh flower.

ग़नीम-ए-ग़म किया है फ़ौज-बंदी इश्क़-बाज़ां पर बजा है आज वो राजा अगर नौबत बजा निकले
Against the lovers, sorrow's foe has marched its grand array; / 'Tis fitting if the sovereign king now sounds the drums of war.
The adversary of sorrow has mobilized its army against the lovers. It is entirely fitting if that king now emerges, beating the royal drums of war.

निसार उस के क़दम ऊपर करूँ अंझुवाँ के गौहर सब अगर करने कूँ दिल-जूई वो सर्व-ए-ख़ुश-अदा निकले
At their feet I would scatter all the pearls of my tears, if that graceful cypress should step forth to console my heart.
If that gracefully moving beloved steps forth to comfort my heart, I will sacrifice and scatter all the pearls of my tears at their feet.

सनम आए करूँगा नाला-ए-जाँ-सोज़ कूँ ज़ाहिर मगर उस संग-दिल सूँ मेहरबानी की सदा निकले
When my beloved comes, I shall reveal my soul-searing lament, if only from that stone-hearted one a voice of mercy would arise.
When my beloved arrives, I will express my soul-burning lament before them, in the hope that a voice of kindness might emerge from that stone-hearted one.

रहे मानिंद-ए-लाल-ए-बे-बहा शाहाँ के ताज ऊपर मोहब्बत में जो कुइ अस्बाब ज़ाहिर कूँ बहा निकले
It shines like a priceless ruby atop the royal crowns of kings, whatever outward wealth and worldly goods are swept away in love's flood.
Whoever discards all outward possessions and worldly goods in love shines and endures like a priceless ruby atop the crowns of kings.

बख़ीली दर्स की हरगिज़ न कीजो ऐ परी-पैकर 'वली' तेरी गली में जब कि मानिंद-ए-गदा निकले
Never be miserly with the alms of your sight, O fairy-faced beauty, whenever Wali wanders into your lane in the guise of a beggar.
O fairy-faced beloved, never be stingy in granting a glimpse of yourself whenever Wali passes through your street like a beggar.
