तक़रीब पर भी तो तू पहलू तही करे है दस बार 'ईद आई कब कब गले मिला तू

गुफ़्त-ओ-शुनूद अक्सर मेरे तिरे रहे है ज़ालिम मु'आफ़ रखियो मेरा कहा-सुना तू
Often I have endured the talk and the silence of you, Oh cruel one, keep safe the words that I have spoken to you.
The couplet states that the speaker has often endured both the words and the silence of the beloved. He then pleads with the cruel one to keep safe the things he has spoken to him.
