Ghazal
Pal Mein Jahaan Ko Dekhte Mere Dubo Chuka / Ik Waqt Mein Ye Deeda Bhi
This ghazal speaks of the poet losing himself in the beloved's gaze, submerging his entire world. The passage of time, filled with the storm of waiting and the intoxication of life, has passed in an instant. It beautifully captures the depth of love and the helplessness associated with the passage of time.

In a moment, my eyes drowned in seeing the world; / In an instant, these very eyes have also been washed by a storm.
In a moment, I was drowned while seeing the world; in an instant, these very eyes have also been washed by a storm.
2
Don't grieve for me so much that now I have to regret what was meant to happen, has already happened.
Don't grieve for me so much that I now have to regret what was meant to happen, has already happened.
3
The eyelids do not blink in this wait,
If these are the eyes, then sleep is over.
The eyelids are so tired in this wait that they do not blink. If these are the eyes, then sleep is completely over.
4
The cup of your intoxicating grace, O cupbearer, is the spring of life; I doze, and suddenly, it is all over.
O cupbearer, this cup, which is like a pair of spectacles, is the spring of life; I dozed off, and suddenly, it is all over.
5
It is not possible that such a beautiful charm blossoms
In that land where I have sown the seed of love.
It is not possible that such a beautiful charm blossoms in that land where I have sown the seed of love.
6
The mountain-sea of tears, I could not find its shore,
With the paw of my temper, I made the ocean roar.
Con the paw of my temper, I made the ocean roar, yet I could not find the shore of the mountain-sea of tears.
7
Every morning, the sky says this to me,
'If he has washed the cup of blood, give it to me, Mir.'
Every morning, the sky says to him, 'If he has washed the cup of blood, give it to me.'
