Since when was the gaze fixed from the door of the sanctuary,
When the curtain lifted, our eyes were confronted with you.
The Shayar asks when the gaze was fixed from the door of the sanctuary, and when the curtain lifted, our eyes were confronted with you.

What power did the head of Surat-gar-e-Azal possess? If I were to speak, she drew the sword of the eyebrow with a pen of steel.

My heart, from weeping, has been scorched through days and nights,
And rivers flow from my tear-filled eyes.
My heart has been scorched through days and nights from weeping, and rivers flow from my tear-filled eyes.
4
The time of 'Ta'at' passed in intoxication of the beloved's grace;
Now only the memories of that grace remain in the eyes.
The time of obedience/devotion passed like the intoxication of the beloved's grace; now only the memories and favor of that grace remain in the eyes.
5
If you do not weep in sorrow, why does time pass by
As if from the burden of grief and pain?
If you do not weep in sorrow, why does time pass by as if from the burden of grief and pain?

My society knows I am a fierce storm, yet I never lifted my head from your feet.
My society knows I am a fierce storm, yet I never lifted my head from your feet.
7
Speak with caution, do not waste the breath of your soul,
For the heart's devotion is like glass, fragile to death.
Speak with caution and do not waste the breath of your soul, for the heart's devotion is like glass, fragile to death.

What hardships have you endured, what torments have you witnessed,
To make a heart so accustomed to your cruelty.
What hardships have you endured and what torments have you witnessed, that a heart has become so accustomed to your cruelty.

In the presence of a wanderer, I did not see peace, / My eyes, which could not open, dreamt of bliss.
In the presence of a wanderer, I did not see peace; / my eyes, which could not open, dreamt of bliss.

You will regret making us suffer so much,
In this world, we are those who give honor to the successful.
You will deeply regret making us suffer, because in this world, we are those who pay homage to the successful.

O Meer, for that ungrateful soul, gather two hearts, by promise and by oath.
