Ghazal

जुज़ जुर्म-ए-इश्क़ कोई भी साबित किया गुनाह

Mir Taqi Mir· Ghazal· 10 shers

This ghazal suggests that the crime of love is not a crime at all. The poet describes the deep pain and memories associated with the beloved's absence, which feel like a dawn (tulu' e-khurshid) even during the night of union. The verses conclude by expressing how the beloved's mere glance leaves a profound wound on the heart.
