Ghazal
This ghazal reflects themes of profound solitude and supreme reliance on the Divine, portraying a conscious detachment from worldly companions. It poignantly captures the dignity of silent heartbreak, where deep personal grief is endured quietly without external lamentation.

No companion do I keep, no familiar friend beside; except in God alone, in no one does my hope abide.
We keep neither any companion nor any acquaintance, and we harbor no hope from anyone except God.

How could anyone ever know of the shattering of hearts, when in their breaking, these glasses make no sound?
How can anyone know about the breaking of hearts, because these glasses make no sound when they shatter?

Let whoever befriends a dervish honor us with his grace; save for a humble reed-mat, no carpet lines our place.
Whoever is a friend of the poor may honor us with their visit, for we possess no floor covering other than a humble reed mat.
4
O travelers, the very first night is steeped in darkest gloom; / One does not light ahead of time the candle of the tomb.
O travelers, the first night is extremely dark and gloomy; one does not light the lamp of the grave beforehand.
5
Who are those people, O Lord of all creation, / Whose ears remain strangers to the art of verse?
O Lord of the entire universe, who are those people whose ears remain unfamiliar with poetry and speech?
6
How could one ever trace those travelers to oblivion? They departed in such a way, leaving no footprints behind.
How can any trace of the travelers to the world of non-existence (the dead) ever be found? They departed in such a manner that they left no footprints behind anywhere.

An inward fever, the grief of parting, feet swollen from wandering so far—afflictions are indeed so many, yet I keep no remedy at all.
Inner burning fever, the sorrow of separation, and swelling from walking on foot—there are so many afflictions, yet I possess no remedy for them.

The truth shall dawn upon them only when their eyes close in death, those who hold no love in their hearts for the Solver of all Sorrows.
Those who do not hold love for the resolver of difficulties will only realize their true condition when their eyes close in death.
9
The mortal clay is kneaded from the world's delight and craving; who is there upon this earth that harbors neither greed nor longing?
Human nature is kneaded from the pleasures and desires of this world; who is there that harbors no greed or longing?
10
Sell your very life, O Anis, and depart from Hind, if you lack the provisions for the journey to Karbala.
