अभी हमारी मोहब्बत किसी को क्या मालूम

अभी हमारी मोहब्बत किसी को क्या मालूम
किसी के दिल की हक़ीक़त किसी को क्या मालूम
What does anyone know as yet of this love we bear? What does anyone know of the truth another heart holds there?
Right now, no one knows anything about our love, just as no one can truly know the reality hidden inside someone's heart.

यक़ीं तो ये है वो ख़त का जवाब लिक्खेंगे
मगर नविश्ता-ए-क़िस्मत किसी को क्या मालूम
I am certain indeed that a reply to my letter shall be penned, yet what fate has inscribed, who can ever know?
I am certain that they will reply to my letter, but no one knows what is written in destiny.

ब-ज़ाहिर उन को हया-दार लोग समझे हैं
हया में जो है शरारत किसी को क्या मालूम
Outwardly, people deem them modest and demure; yet what mischief lies veiled in that modesty, who can know for sure?
Outwardly, people consider them modest and shy, but no one truly knows what mischief lies hidden beneath that modesty.

क़दम क़दम पे तुम्हारे हमारे दिल की तरह
बसी हुई है क़यामत किसी को क्या मालूम
At your every step, just like this heart of mine, a day of doom resides—who could ever divine?
Who could possibly know that, just like my heart, doomsday resides at every single step of yours.

ये रंज ओ ऐश हुए हिज्र ओ वस्ल में हम को
कहाँ है दोज़ख़ ओ जन्नत किसी को क्या मालूम
These griefs and pleasures we experienced in parting and embrace; who truly knows where hell and heaven have their place?
We experienced sorrow in separation and joy in union; who really knows where heaven and hell actually are?

जो सख़्त बात सुने दिल तो टूट जाता है
इस आईने की नज़ाकत किसी को क्या मालूम
Hearing a harsh word, the heart simply shatters; who could ever fathom the fragility of this mirror?
If the heart hears a harsh word, it simply breaks; who can truly know the delicate fragility of this mirror?

किया करें वो सुनाने को प्यार की बातें
उन्हें है मुझ से अदावत किसी को क्या मालूम
She may utter tender words of love for the world to hear; that she harbors bitter enmity toward me, who could ever know?
Even if they speak words of love just for others to hear, who could possibly know that they actually harbor enmity toward me.

ख़ुदा करे न फँसे दाम-ए-इश्क़ में कोई
उठाई है जो मुसीबत किसी को क्या मालूम
May God grant that none be caught in love's treacherous snare; the torment I have endured, how could anyone ever know?
May God grant that no one ever gets trapped in the snare of love; no one can truly know the hardships and suffering that I have endured.

अभी तो फ़ित्ने ही बरपा किए हैं आलम में
उठाएँगे वो क़यामत किसी को क्या मालूम
As yet, they have only stirred mild turmoils across the world; who knows what apocalypse they shall yet summon forth?
Right now they have only caused turmoil and chaos in the world; who knows what doomsday or catastrophe they might bring about next.

जनाब-ए-'दाग़' के मशरब को हम से तो पूछो
छुपे हुए हैं ये हज़रत किसी को क्या मालूम
Ask of us the creed and ways of master 'Dagh' / Veiled is this gentleman's true self, what would another know?
Ask us about the creed and true nature of master Dagh; this gentleman remains hidden from view, so how could anyone else know him?
