बे-तकल्लुफ़ बोसा-ए-ज़ुल्फ़-ए-चलीपा लीजिए नक़्द-ए-दिल मौजूद है फिर क्यूँ न सौदा लीजिए
Without hesitation, take a kiss from those cross-curled tresses; the heart's ready coin is at hand, so why not strike the bargain?
Take a kiss from those curled tresses without hesitation; when the ready cash of the heart is at hand, why not make the deal?

दिल तो पहले ले चुके अब जान के ख़्वाहाँ हैं आप इस में भी मुझ को नहीं इंकार अच्छा लीजिए
You have already taken my heart, and now it is my life you crave; In this too I have no refusal—very well then, take it!
You have already taken my heart and now you desire my life; I have no objection to this either, so go ahead and take it.

पाँव पकड़ कर कहती है ज़ंजीर-ए-ज़िंदाँ में रहो वहशत-ए-दिल का है ईमा राह-ए-सहरा लीजिए
Clutching my feet, the prison chain implores, 'Remain bound in the cell,' while the wild frenzy of my heart beckons, 'Take to the desert sands.'
The prison chain grasps my feet and tells me to remain captive, while the wild frenzy of my heart urges me to take the path toward the desert.

ग़ैर को तो कर के ज़िद करते हैं खाने में शरीक मुझ से कहते हैं अगर कुछ भूक हो खा लीजिए
The rival they press with insistence to join them in their feast; / To me they casually say, 'Do eat, if hungry in the least.'
They insistently urge the stranger (rival) to share a meal with them, but to me they merely say indifferently, 'Eat if you feel hungry.'

ख़ुश-नुमा चीज़ें हैं बाज़ार-ए-जहाँ में बे-शुमार एक नक़द-ए-दिल से या-रब मोल क्या क्या लीजिए
Countless are the alluring wares in this worldly marketplace; With just the single coin of a heart, O Lord, what all can one purchase?
There are countless alluring things in this marketplace of the world; O Lord, what all can one possibly buy with just the single coin of a heart?

कुश्ता आख़िर आतिश-ए-फ़ुर्क़त से होना है मुझे और चंदे सूरत-ए-सीमाब तड़पा लीजिए
Slain at last by the fire of parting I am bound to be; for a while longer, like restless quicksilver, let me writhe in agony.
Ultimately, I am destined to perish in the fire of separation, so torment me and let me writhe like restless mercury for just a little longer.

फ़स्ल-ए-गुल के आते ही 'अकबर' हुए बेहोश आप खोलिए आँखों को साहब जाम-ए-सहबा लीजिए
With the arrival of spring, O Akbar, you have swooned away; Open your eyes, good sir, and take this cup of wine.
As soon as spring arrived, Akbar, you lost consciousness; open your eyes, sir, and take the cup of wine.
