Shauq Har Rang Raqiib-e-Sar O Saamaan Niklaa
The verses
शौक़ हर रंग रक़ीब-ए-सर-ओ-सामाँ निकला क़ैस तस्वीर के पर्दे में भी उर्यां निकला
Meaning: Desire, in every form, proved foe to all one's gain;Qais, even in the painted veil, appeared stripped bare and plain.
शोर-ए-रुसवाई-ए-दिल देख कि यक-नाला-ए-शौक़ लाख पर्दे में छुपा पर वही उर्यां निकला
Meaning: Behold the heart's scandalous clamor: a single cry of passion,Though hidden in a million veils, still emerged utterly bare.
जौहर-ईजाद-ए-ख़त-ए-सब्ज़ है ख़ुद-बीनी-ए-हुस्न जो न देखा था सो आईने में पिन्हाँ निकला
Meaning: Beauty's own self-regard invents the green down's essence,What was unseen, in the mirror as hidden did emerge.
मैं भी माज़ूर-ए-जुनूँ हूँ 'असद' ऐ ख़ाना-ख़राब पेशवा लेने मुझे घर से बयाबाँ निकला
Meaning: O Asad, I too am afflicted by madness, O wretched soul,The wilderness itself emerged from my house to lead me away.
