The verses

1. આ મોહબ્બત છે કે છે એની દયા કહેતા નથી, એક મુદ્દત થઈ કે તેઓ હા કે ના કહેતા નથી.

   Meaning: Is this love, or simply her mercy? They do not say,A long while has passed, yet they say neither yes nor nay.

2. જે કલાનું હાર્દ છે એની મજા મારી જશે, ક્યાંથી ક્યાંથી મેળવી છે પ્રેરણા કહેતા નથી.

   Meaning: The joy of art's true heart will surely fade,From where they drew their muse, they've never said.

3. એ જ લોકો થઈ શકે છે મહેફિલોની આબરૂ, જેઓ વેરાનીને પણ સૂની જગા કહેતા નથી.

   Meaning: Only those can be the glory of gatherings, Who don't even call desolation a lonely place.

4. બે જણા દિલથી મળે તો એક મજલિસ છે ‘મરીઝ’, દિલ વિના લાખો મળે એને સભા કહેતા નથી.

   Meaning: When two souls sincerely meet, that's an assembly, O Mareez,Millions without heart assembling, that is not called a true gathering.
