We too have been afflicted by the sorrow of our homes and kin,
Our heads have been struck by our own doorways and walls until now.
We too have been afflicted by the sorrow of our homes and kin, and our heads have been struck by our own doorways and walls until now.

I heard them speaking of those whom they had affection for,
'It is a good thing that someone is rid of this torment now.'

In the time of death, I reached the breach of promises,
For a promise of loyalty from a beloved, it remains unfulfilled till now.
In the time of death, I reached the breach of promises, and the promise of loyalty from a beloved remains unfulfilled till now.

O cruel one, who watches the might of wrath and fury, / Even with a gesture, you now brandish the sword.
O cruel one, who observes the might of wrath and fury, you now even gestures with the sword.

Some sorrow of the heart, 'Mir', was drawn in youth,
But the yellowing does not leave my cheek even till now.
