Aaj-kal Be-qaraar Hain Hum Bhi
आज-कल बे-क़रार हैं हम भी
This ghazal expresses a sense of restlessness and emotional turmoil, stating that the speaker is also unsettled nowadays. The speaker feels trapped or subject to circumstances beyond his control, likening himself to a quarry or a subject of fate. It is a plea to the beloved to refrain from giving advice or pity, acknowledging a state of helplessness.

आक़िबत दोस्त-दार हैं हम भी

Literally, the couplet means that while wine is for 'Muddai', it is poison for us; and friend, our fate is the same.
