Ghazal
This ghazal describes the suffering inflicted by separation and fate. The poet questions the cruel injustice that befell him through carelessness. It speaks of how his path of love became lost in a slumber, reflecting the uncertainty of life and the wanderings of the heart in the search for love.

What shall I say, what cruel fate has fallen upon me by heedlessness? I kept going along, and fell asleep as dawn broke.
What shall I say, what cruel fate has fallen upon me due to heedlessness? The procession kept moving, and I fell asleep as dawn broke.

For some long time, let the rain fall upon my body,
If you pass over me, even on my ashes, weeping.
For a long time, let the rain fall upon my grave, if you passed over me, even on my ashes, weeping.

He spent his life's journey on the path he took.
On the path of love, danger is not hidden, and he spent his entire life's journey on the path he chose.

The wish that is desired, cannot be found anywhere,
In the quest for a world, my life has been lost.
The wish that is desired cannot be found anywhere; in the quest for a world, my life has been lost.

In every wave, the mind is like tresses of hair,
Since she washed her locks upon the river's flair.
The Shayar says that since she washed her hair upon the river, her mind has become like tresses in every wave.
