आदमी आदमी से मिलता है दिल मगर कम किसी से मिलता है
Man meets with man as people often do, yet heart connects with heart among so very few.
People often meet and interact with one another, but hearts rarely truly connect with anyone.

भूल जाता हूँ मैं सितम उस के वो कुछ इस सादगी से मिलता है
I forget every cruelty dealt by her hand, with such sheer innocence does she meet me.
I forget all the cruelties inflicted by my beloved, because they meet me with such utter innocence and simplicity.

आज क्या बात है कि फूलों का रंग तेरी हँसी से मिलता है
What wonder stirs today, that the blossom's hue / So deeply resembles the radiance of your smile?
What is the reason today that the color of the flowers resembles your smile?

सिलसिला फ़ित्ना-ए-क़यामत का तेरी ख़ुश-क़ामती से मिलता है
The rising tumult of the Judgment Day / Finds its thread in your tall, graceful sway.
The chaos and turmoil of the Day of Judgment seems directly linked to your tall and graceful stature.

मिल के भी जो कभी नहीं मिलता टूट कर दिल उसी से मिलता है
The one who remains ever elusive, even when we meet—to that very soul my shattered heart surrenders, complete.
The heart falls deeply in love and attaches itself only to the person who, despite meeting, never truly becomes one's own.

कारोबार-ए-जहाँ सँवरते हैं होश जब बे-ख़ुदी से मिलता है

रूह को भी मज़ा मोहब्बत का दिल की हम-साएगी से मिलता है
Even the soul savors the sweet delight of love only through the heart's close companionship.
