Salamat Rahe Dil Bura Hai Ki Achchha — Dagh Dehlvi
सलामत रहे दिल बुरा है कि अच्छा
हज़ारों में ये एक दम देखते हैं
— Dagh Dehlvi
Meaning
May the heart remain safe whether it is good or bad, for amidst thousands, it is this single breath of life we behold.
Explanation
The poet prays for the well-being of the heart, setting aside all moral judgments of whether it is virtuous or flawed. In a vast world of thousands of indifferent souls, this single, feeling heart is the rare spark that truly breathes life into existence. It is a tender reminder that the capacity to love and hurt, despite all our imperfections, is what makes us genuinely alive.
