कब किसी दर की जब्हा-साई की
शैख़ साहब नमाज़ क्या जानें
When has he ever bowed his brow upon a beloved's threshold? What could the pious Sheikh truly know of prayer?
The Sheikh has never bowed his forehead at anyone's threshold, so what could he possibly know about true prayer?

जो रह-ए-इश्क़ में क़दम रक्खें
वो नशेब-ओ-फ़राज़ क्या जानें

ये मज़ा पाक-बाज़ क्या जानें
Ask the wine-drinkers of the true joy of wine; what could the pious ever know of such delight?

बले चितवन तिरी ग़ज़ब री निगाह
क्या करेंगे ये नाज़ क्या जानें
