That former tenderness is felt no more; / The charm that once beguiled me is no longer there.
There is no longer that past attention and warmth; the charm that once captivated us is no longer there.

I place complete faith in your fidelity, yet you grant not the slightest regard to me.
I have complete faith in your loyalty and faithfulness, but you pay no attention or regard to me.

What myriad griefs attend a single soul; this life is merely death, not life at all.
There are so many sorrows attached to a single life; this existence is merely like death and not true life at all.

If it passes like this, it is easy enough; yet even this respite of grief has no permanence.
If life passes just like this, it is easy, but even this respite of grief has no permanence.

If there were a sympathetic soul, I would recount my plight; the happenings of the heart are neither trivial nor slight.
One can only express their state if there is a truly sympathetic listener, for the happenings of the heart are neither trivial nor ordinary.

Every speck of dust reflects the radiant sun; awaken, O eye, for it is day, not night.
Every single particle reflects the sun; awaken, O eye, for it is day and not night.

Be it Qais, the mountain-hewer Kohkan, or Hali— / Love is no one's private birthright or pedigree.
Whether it be Qais, Kohkan (Farhad), or Hali, being a lover is not anyone's exclusive birthright or personal monopoly.
