हाल-ए-दिल मैं सुना नहीं सकता

हाल-ए-दिल मैं सुना नहीं सकता
लफ़्ज़ मा'ना को पा नहीं सकता
hāl-e-dil maiñ sunā nahīñ saktā
lafz ma.anā ko pā nahīñ saktā

इश्क़ नाज़ुक-मिज़ाज है बेहद
अक़्ल का बोझ उठा नहीं सकता
ishq nāzuk-mizāj hai behad
aql kā bojh uThā nahīñ saktā

होश आरिफ़ की है यही पहचान
कि ख़ुदी में समा नहीं सकता
hosh aarif kī hai yahī pahchān
ki ḳhudī meñ samā nahīñ saktā

पोंछ सकता है हम-नशीं आँसू
दाग़-ए-दिल को मिटा नहीं सकता
poñchh saktā hai ham-nashīñ aañsū
dāġh-e-dil ko miTā nahīñ saktā

मुझ को हैरत है उस की क़ुदरत पर
अलम उस को घटा नहीं सकता
mujh ko hairat hai us kī qudrat par
alam us ko ghaTā nahīñ saktā
