The verses

क्या तंग हम सितम-ज़दगाँ का जहान है जिस में कि एक बैज़ा-ए-मोर आसमान है
Meaning: How cramped a realm belongs to us, the sorrow-stricken souls, where the entire sky is merely an ant's egg.
की उस ने गर्म सीना-ए-अहल-ए-हवस में जा आवे न क्यूँ पसंद कि ठंडा मकान है
Meaning: She made herself at home within the breast of those by lust possessed; / Why would she not delight in it, when it's a cool place to rest?
है बारे ए'तिमाद-ए-वफ़ा-दारी इस क़दर 'ग़ालिब' हम इस में ख़ुश हैं कि ना-मेहरबान है
Meaning: Such absolute trust is reposed in my enduring fidelity; Ghalib, we rejoice that she remains unkind to me.
