1. મને સાગરપાર બોલાવી, ઓ બ્રિટન! આદરમાનભર્યાં દઈ ઇજન,

   Meaning: O Britain, you called me from across the sea,With invitations full of dignity,

2. મહાસિંધુની ઓ લહરી લહરી! તમ બિન્દુએ બિન્દુની જીભ કરી

   Meaning: O waves, O waves of the mighty ocean!By your drop, a tongue for every drop you fashioned.

3. ગાંધીનું પ્રેમ-પ્રયાણ ગમ્યું; દારૂગોળાના વારસદારને નગ્ન

   Meaning: Gandhi's loving journey was pleasing; The heir of gunpowder, naked.

4. ફકીરનું નેત્રસુધા ન ગમ્યું.

   Meaning: The fakir found no pleasure in the eye's sweet nectar.
