आह जिस वक़्त सर उठाती है

The verses

1. आह जिस वक़्त सर उठाती है अर्श पर बर्छियाँ चलाती है

   Meaning: Oh, the time when it raises its head, And wields spears upon the throne.

2. नाज़-बरदार-ए-लब है जाँ जब से तेरे ख़त की ख़बर को पाती है

   Meaning: When the charming lips, my soul, are informed of your letter's news,

3. ऐ शब-ए-हिज्र रास्त कह तुझ को बात कुछ सुब्ह की भी आती है

   Meaning: Oh, the night of separation, tell me truly, Something of the morning's talk also comes to me.

4. चश्म-ए-बद्दूर-चश्म-ए-तर ऐ 'मीर' आँखें तूफ़ान को दिखाती है

   Meaning: O Mir, the eye of the bad moon, the eye of the star, Show the storm to your eyes.
