I Bow to the Lotus Feet of the Lord
In this devotional poem, Surdas extols the glory of Lord Hari's lotus feet and the transformative power of divine grace. He portrays how God's boundless compassion makes the impossible possible—enabling the lame to cross mountains, the blind to see, and the pauper to be crowned a king. The verse resonates with profound humility and total surrender to the merciful Lord.

जाकी कृपा पंगु गिरि लंघै अंधे को सब कुछ दरसाई ॥
I bow before the lotus feet of the Lord Divine, by whose grace the lame scales the mountain and the blind is granted sight to behold all.
I bow to the lotus feet of the supreme Lord, by whose grace a lame person can cross mountains and a blind person can see everything.

The deaf can hear, the mute speaks once more, and a pauper walks beneath a royal canopy; O Surdas, so full of mercy is my Lord, again and again I bow unto His feet.
By His grace, the deaf hears, the mute speaks again, and a pauper walks with a royal canopy held over his head. Surdas says that he bows again and again to the feet of such a compassionate Lord.
