Ghazal
যদি তারে নাই চিনি গো
This ghazal expresses the poet's deep longing and uncertainty regarding a beloved. The speaker wonders if the unknown 'other' will recognize them if they don't know the 'other' first, and if they will ever truly claim the beloved as their own. It conveys a solitary wait, filled with hope and devotion, for a meeting that may or may not come.

যদি তারে নাই চিনি গো, সে কি আমায় নেবে চিনে?
পারব কি গো ডাকতে তারে 'আমার' বলে মনে মনে?
If I do not recognize them, will they recognize me? Will I be able to call them 'mine' silently in my heart?

আলো হাতে চলিয়াছে আঁধারের যাত্রী,
আমি শুধু তার পথ চেয়ে থাকি॥
A traveler of darkness walks with light in hand, and I merely await their path.

জানি না, জানি না কবে পাব দেখা,
এই প্রতীক্ষায় কাটে আমার দিন একা একা॥
I don't know, I don't know when I will meet. My days pass alone in this wait.
