Yaqut Koi Un Ko Kahe Hai Koi Gul-bagh — Mir Taqi Mir
याक़ूत कोई उन को कहे है कोई गुल-बर्ग
टुक होंट हिला तू भी कि इक बात ठहर जाए
— Mir Taqi Mir
Meaning
O sapphire, who told you that I am a flower-garden? Just move your lips and let one word pause and linger.
Explanation
This beautiful couplet captures the magic of the beloved's presence. The poet is asking the beloved, almost pleadingly, that even a slight movement of the lips—a mere whisper—should be enough to make time pause. It speaks to a profound state of intoxication and yearning, where the speaker is so captivated that the smallest gesture feels like a cosmic event, freezing the moment forever.
