Neither is Majnu in the wilderness, nor is Farhad in the mountain; the beloved friends who gave the pleasure of life have died.

The poet, Mir Taqi Mir, suggests that the tragedy of his loss is so immense that it dwarfs the famous, legendary romances of Majnu and Heer, or Farhad and Shirina.
