Ghazal

zaahid kahoon kya tujh se ki hoon ab main kidhar ka

Khwaja Ruknuddin Ishq· Ghazal· 5 shers

In this ghazal, the poet addresses the ascetic to express the acute alienation and helplessness caused by passionate love, leaving him belonging neither to the sacred nor the profane. It conveys deep despair over the irresistible, fatal gaze of the beloved, against which even destiny cannot protect the heart.
