O pride of love's burning passion, burn me to ashes, for now those beloved eyes have started to look upon me with pity.

A true lover can bear cruelty or indifference, but being pitied by the beloved is the ultimate blow to their dignity. The poet calls upon the proud, burning flame of his passion to consume him entirely and reduce him to ashes. To him, becoming an object of mercy in those eyes is far more painful than being completely destroyed by love.
