If you call me with a smile, all the grievances of the heart will fade away; yet what kind of an image or thought of yours is this that I cannot even erase?
This couplet beautifully captures the sweet helplessness of deep love. The poet suggests that all their accumulated hurt and grievances are so fragile that a single, warm smile from the beloved could melt them away in an instant. Yet, in contrast, the beloved’s presence in their mind is so permanently etched that no power on earth could ever erase that cherished memory.
