Aap Hi Dekhte Hain Ham Ko To — Dagh Dehlvi
आप ही देखते हैं हम को तो
दिल का आना नज़र नहीं आता
— Dagh Dehlvi
Meaning
You only keep looking at me, yet you fail to notice that my heart has fallen in love with you.
Explanation
The poet plays beautifully with the difference between mere seeing and truly understanding. While the beloved's gaze constantly rests on the lover, they remain oblivious to the silent, invisible moment that the lover's heart fell for them. It captures the tender ache of being looked at outwardly every day, yet having one's deepest love go entirely unnoticed.
