The Saki has not yet allowed me to drink my fill. He has only given me a small taste.

This beautiful couplet captures the feeling of sudden, overwhelming intoxication, whether from wine or the intoxication of love. The poet, Amrut Ghayal, is telling the 'Saqi' (the cupbearer/bestower of emotion) that he has only been given a mere taste. Yet, that small taste has been enough to make him feel utterly lost and high! It speaks to the power of a single, potent moment that changes everything.
