A fassad is a traditional surgeon or practitioner who performs phlebotomy (fasd), lancing a vein to let out blood for therapeutic purposes. In this couplet, the lancet of the fassad (nashtar-e-fassaad) is invoked alongside the sting of a honeybee to describe the sharp, deliberate pain of a wound. Metaphorically, it embodies an agonizing incision inflicted under the pretext of cure or relief.
