Faridun is a celebrated monarch in Persian mythology and the Shahnameh, famous for overthrowing the tyrannical Zahhak and ruling with exemplary justice. In this couplet, Ghalib invokes Faridun alongside other illustrious emperors to assert that none of their mythic splendor matches the majesty of his royal patron.
