Literally meaning thread by thread, it signifies being ripped completely into shreds or tatters. In Urdu love poetry, it describes the frantic state of the lover (junūn) who violently tears their collar or robe in unbearable despair. In this couplet, the individual threads of the shredded collar are poetically compared to the rain-veins of weeping clouds.
