In Persian and Urdu literature, 'zindagi' denotes mortal existence, vitality, or the experience of life. In the context of this couplet, it represents a fresh renewal or rebirth ('az-sar-e-nau zindagi') that can only be truly realized once the captive soul breaks free from confinement.
