Detailed Meaning
In classical poetry, 'kaar-farma' denotes an organizer, ruler, or prime agent who orchestrates an event or system. In Ghalib's couplet, it metaphorically signifies the heart, the host and architect of the illumination of glowing wounds, which has itself been consumed by flames. With the director extinguished, the festive display becomes completely pointless.
