In Urdu poetry, 'uthega' denotes the future action of rising, awakening, or being lifted. In this couplet, it specifically refers to the lifting of the veil from the beloved's radiant face. From Sanskrit उत्तिष्ठति (uttiṣṭhati), passing through Prakrit उट्ठइ (uṭṭhaï) into Hindustani उठना (uṭhnā).
