અપમાનિતા-અપયશવતી તું : તોય મા તે મા! પરવશ-પરાજિત લથડતી તું : તોય મા તે મા!
Meaning: Disgraced and ill-reputed are you: yet a mother is a mother!Helpless, defeated, stumbling are you: yet a mother is a mother!
તુજ ખોળલા ભરિયલ હતા, ત્યાં લગી મીઠા લાગતા!
Meaning: As long as your lap was full,All things then seemed sweet.
તે સમે તારી ઠેકડી કપૂતો જ કરશે, મા! હીણાયલી-રોળાયલી તુ : તોય મા તે મા!
Meaning: At that time, only unworthy sons will mock you, Mother!Humiliated, trodden underfoot you may be: yet a Mother is a Mother!
જે હતી તે-ની તે જ છે તું દિલ અમારે, મા!
Meaning: You are in our hearts the same as you always were, Mother!
