तेरा साँई तुझमें , ज्यों पहुपन में बास। कस्तूरी का हिरन ज्यों , फिर-फिर ढ़ूँढ़त घास॥ 95॥

The verses

1. तेरा साँई तुझमें , ज्यों पहुपन में बास। कस्तूरी का हिरन ज्यों , फिर-फिर ढ़ूँढ़त घास॥

   Meaning: Your Lord in you resides, like a scent in the wild. Like a deer for musk, forever searching for grass.

2. कथा-कीर्तन कुल विशे , भवसागर की नाव। कहत कबीरा या जगत में नाहि और उपाव॥

   Meaning: The lineage of stories and devotional singing, the boat of this ocean of existence. Kabir says that in this world, there is no other remedy.

3. कबिरा यह तन जात है , सके तो ठौर लगा। कै सेवा कर साधु की , कै गोविंद गुन गा॥

   Meaning: Kabira, this body will perish, if you can find a resting place for it. What service can you render to the saint, or sing the praises of Govinda?

4. तन बोहत मन काग है , लक्ष योजन उड़ जाय। कबहु के धर्म अगम दयी , कबहुं गगन समाय॥

   Meaning: The body is much, the mind is restless, the goal is far away. Sometimes the dharma is unreachable, sometimes it dwells in the sky.

5. जहँ गाहक ता हूँ नहीं , जहाँ मैं गाहक नाँय। मूरख यह भरमत फिरे , पकड़ शब्द की छाँय॥ 99॥ कहता तो बहुत मिला , गहता मिला न कोय। सो कहता वह जान दे , जो नहिं गहता होय॥

   Meaning: Where the buyer is not present, there I am not. Where I am not the buyer, there I am not. This fool wanders in delusion, chasing the shadow of words. Though he says much, he gains nothing. Let him say what he does not possess.
